Mexican Black Bean, Corn, Capsicum and Avocado Salad


It looks nicely colourful and it's delicious. You can serve it as vegetarian meal or side dish / salad. Would look good on Christmas table too!

Ingredients:
2 cans black beans  (or 1 cup dry, presoaked, cooked), rinsed
1 cup corn kernels (frozen OK), cooked
1 red capsicum, diced
1 red chilli( long/mild), diced
4-6 spring onions, sliced (or 1 Spanish onion, diced)
1/2 bunch coriander leaves, sliced
1 lime, juice and zest
1/3 cup olive oil
2 avocados, diced
salt, sugar and pepper to taste
cayenne pepper (optional) to taste 

Method:
Mix all ingredients (except avocado) 2-3 hours before serving, season and leave in fridge. Just before serving, dice avocado and mix in. Enjoy!



Meksička Grah Salata sa Avokadom, Kukuruzom i Paprikom 

Izgleda lijepo saroliko i pikantna je. Mozete je servirati kao vegetarijanski obrok ili kao prilog / salatu. Izgledala bi lijepo i na Bozicnoj trpezi.

Potrebno:
2 konzerve crnog graha (ili 1 solja suhog, natopljen i skuhan), ispranog
1 solja kukuruznih zrna (smznuti mogu), skuhani
1 crvena mesnata paprika, sjeckana na kockice
1 cili papricica, crvena blago ljuta, sjeckana
4-6 kom. mladog luka, sjeckana (ili 1 ljubicasti luk, sjeckan)
1/2 vezice korijander lisca, sjeckano
1 limeta, sok i ribana korica
1/3 solje maslinovog ulja
2 avokada, sjeckan na kockice
so, secer i biber prema ukusu
kajen biber (opciono) prema ukusu

Nacin:
Pomijesajte sve sastojke, osim avokada, na 2-3 sata prije sluzenja i zacinite. Promijesajte i ostavite u frizider. Neposredno prije sluzenja isijecite avokado i umijesajte laganim pokretima. Sluzite i uzivajte.

Spanish Baked Beans with Eggs


Sometimes we don't have time for spending long time in our kitchen, or simply don't want to cook complicated dishes. In that case, 'combining' is a great idea. By combining I mean using canned, or already prepared ingredients.

Ingredients:
2-3 tbs olive oil
1 onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 1/2 tbs flour
1 tbs paprika
1 tsp cumin powder
1 can diced tomatoes
2 cans red kidney beans (or others), drained
1 Chorizo sausage (optional), sliced
salt and pepper to taste
chili powder to taste (optional)
4 eggs
coriander leaves and Spanish onion for sprinkling

Method:
Preheat oven to 180*C; choose a pan that can be used on top of the stove and in oven.
Heat oil, saute onion. Add garlic, spices and flour. Mix well, then pour tomato can in, add beans and sausage (if using). Bring to boil; add seasoning to taste, mix well. Make space for eggs, pressing 4 times with a spoon. Place eggs into their 'nests'and bake for 25 minutes. Sprinkle with coriander and spanish onion before serving.


Španski zapečeni grah sa jajima


Ponekad ne zelimo provesti mnogo vremena u kuhinji, ili jednostavno ne zelimo kuhati komplicirana jela. U tom slucaju, 'kombiniranje' je odlicna ideja. Pod kombiniranjem podrazumijevam koristenje vec upola pripremljene ili konzervirane hrane 

Potrebno:
2-3 K ulja
1 crveni luk, sjeckan
2 cena bijelog luka, sjeckan / protisnut
1 1/2 K brasna
1 K paprike
1 k kima u prahu
1 konzerva sjeckanog paradajza
2 konzerve graha (po vasem izboru; koristen crveni), ocijedjene
1 Chorizo kobasica, (po zelji) sjeckana
so i biber prema ukusu
ljuta paprika (chili) po zelji
4 jaja
lisce korijandera i ljubicasti luk sjeckan za posuti

Nacin:
Ukljucite renu na 180*C; pripremite posudu koja moze na platnu i u rernu.
Zagrijte ulje, proprzite luk. Dodajte bijeli luk, suhe zacine i brasno, Promijesajte dobro, pa ubacite paradajz, grah i kobasicu (ukoliko koristite). Dovedite do kljucanja; zacinite prema ukusu, promijesajte. Kasikom napravite 4 udubljenja i smjestite jaja na povrsinu. Zapecite oko 25 minuta.
Pospite liscem korijandera i ljubicastim lukom prije sluzenja.

Serbian Bean soup ('Pasulj')


This is one of favourite winter dishes in Balkan countries. I'm presenting Serbian recipe, although in many surrounding countries it's made in a similar way. Every family has their own recipe, which is never written, because they use what is available at moment and /or according to personal taste.

Ingredients:
2-3 tbs lard (or oil)
2 medium onions, chopped
2-3 garlic cloves, finelly chopped
2 carrots, chopped
1 parsnip, chopped (or celery stalk)
2 tbs paprika
1-2 capsicums (or large chilies), whole or chopped (optional)
smoked hook / sausages / streaky bacon (anything available, but smoked)
250-300 g dried beans (Borlotti),  (soaked overnight)
salt and pepper
2 bay leaves
1-2 tbs vegetable, beef or chicken stock
parsley leaves
Chili powder or hot paprika, if you like it spicy
(I always add 1-2 tsp cumin - not used traditionally)
Water (1,5-2 L)
Method:
If you didn't soak beans overnight, cook it for 30 minutes with a tsp of soda  in plenty of water. Throw the water  after cooking.
Heat lard in a large sauce pan, sautee onion, add other fresh vegetables and smoked meat (sausages). Cook for 5-6 minutes. Add paprika, beans, spices and water. Mix well and cover. Cook for 1-1,5 hours (or longer if beans hard). Check the taste, add salt and pepper and sprinkle with parsley leaves. Serve with crusty bread and sliced raw onion  (or other salad).



Srbijanski Pasulj 

Pasulj (grah / fažol / bob) je jedan od zimskih favorita na trpezama u Balkanskim zemljama. Navodim Srbijanski recept, mada se slicno priprema i u okolnim zemljama. Svaka porodica ima svoj recept, koji se nikada ne zapisuje, jer se obicno koristi ono sto je pristupacno u datom trenutku ili prema osobnom ukusu.

Potrebno:
2-3 K masti ili ulja
2 crvena luka, sjeckana
2-3 cena bijelog luka, sitno sjeckana
2 mrkve, sjeckane
1 korijen persuna, sjeckan (ili stabljika celera)
2 K paprike u prahu
1-2 paprike, svjeze, sjecene ili cijele ('Roge' su najbolje)
dimljene potkoljenice, kobasice ili slanina, sta god je pristupacno
250-300 gr graha/pasulja/fazola 'Šarenca' (potopljen u vodu prethodnog dana)
so i biber
2 lovorova lista
2 K Vegete ili gotov  govedji/pileci/povrtni bujon 
lisce persuna
ljuta paprika ili chili, ako volite ljuto
(Ja obavezno dodam 1-2 k kima - sto nije uobicajeno u tradicionalnim receptima)
1,5-2 L vode 
Nacin:
Ako grah niste namocili prethodnog dan, kuhajte ga u dosta vode sa 1 k sode bb oko 30 minuta. Bacite vodu.
Zagrijte mast u vecoj serpi / loncu, proprzite luk, pa dodajte ostalo povrce, dimljeno meso (kobasice...)Dinstajte oko 5-6 minuta, zatim ubacite papriku, grah, zacine i vodu. Promijesajte i poklopite. Kuhajte 1-1,5 sata (ili duze ako je grah jos tvrd). Provjerite ukus, dodajte so i biber, pa pospite liscem persuna. Servirajte sa dobrim kruhom / hljebom i reznjevima crvenog luka (ili drugom salatom).

Black Bean Brownies


Brownies made with Black beans?! Very unusual and new to me, so I had to give it a go. They're wonderfully moist and gluten free. Lots of fibre too..

Ingredients:
4 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 cups black beans, canned or cooked and drained well
1/4 cup coconut oil or melted butter
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup cocoa powder
vanilla essence and a pinch of salt
chocolate for spreading; optional
Method:
Preheat oven to 180*C, prepare a baking dish (18 X 24 cm), line with baking paper.
Put eggs and sugar into a bowl, mix on high speed until pale and fluffy.
Process beans into puree, add other ingredients and mix well. Transfer this mixture into sugar/egg mixture and fold. Pour into prepared dish and bake for 30-35 min. Take out from oven and cool slightly, then decorate. Take out from tin and slice when completely cool.



'Brownies' sa bobom / grahom / pasuljem

'Braunis' od crnog graha? Veoma neobicno i novo za mene, tako da sam morala probati. Divno su socni i bez glutena. Dobri za probavu, takodje...

Potrebno:
4 jaja
1 solja secera
2 solje kuhanog / konzerviranog crnog graha, dobro ocijedjenog
1/4 solje kokos ulja ili otopljenog maslaca
1/2 solje kiselog vrhnja
1/2 solje kakaa
vanila esencija i malo soli
cokolada za dekoraciju, po zelji
Nacin:
Ukljucite rernu na 180*C, pripremite posudu za pecenje (18 X 24 cm), oblozite je papirom za pecenje.
Miksajte jaja sa secerom, dok se ne uspjeni. Meljite grah u sjeckalici dok ne postane pire, dodajte ostale sastojke. Pomijesajte rucno obje smjese i istresite u posudu. Pecite 30-35 minuta; zatim malo prohladit i ukrasite po zelji. Izvadite i sijecite kada je sasvim hladno.

'Frijoles Negros' - Black Beans of Cuba



Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups black beans
water (8-9 cups)
2 tbs olive oil
2 onions, diced
1 capsicum, diced
3 garlic cloves, finely diced
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black peppercorns, crushed
1 tsp oregano powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1-2 tsp paprika
1-2 bay leaves
3-4 tbs balsamic vinegar
3/4 cup (Spanish) wine
Method:
Soak beans overnight  in plenty of water; cook for 1/2 hour (or, cook them in a pressure cooker - no soaking required). If you don't throw first water, your beans will be darker. 
Heat oil in a big pot, sautee onion, capsicum and garlic. Add beans with some water, mix in all spices. Cook for 1-2 hours, or until beans soft, but still whole. Take 1 cup of beans out; mash them. Return to pot and add vinegar and wine. Stir and bring to boil again.
Serve over rice; add freshly sliced onion (sprinkle on top).



Kubanski Crni Grah / Bob / Pasulj


Potrebno:
2,5 solje crnog graha / boba / pasulja
voda (8-9 solja)
2 K maslinovog ulja
2 crvena luka, sjeckana
1 paprika, sjeckana
3 cena bijelog luka, protisnuta
1 k soli
1/2 k zrna crnog bibera, zgnjecena
1 k origana u prahu
1 k kima u prahu
1-2 k crvene paprike (prah)
1-2 lista lovora
3-4 K balzamicnog sirceta
3/4 solje (Spanskog) vina
Nacin:
Namocite grah preko noci, pa ga kuhajte oko 1/2 sata (ili ga skuhajte u pres-loncu, bez prethodnog namakanja). Ako ne bacite ovu prvu vodu, vas grah ce imati lijepu tamnu boju.
Zagrijte ulje proprzite luk, papriku i bijeli luk. Dodajte grah sa malo vode, ubacite sve zacine. Kuhajte 1-2 sata, dok grah ne omeksa, ali treba ostati cio. Izvadite 1 solju graha, izgnjecite ga i vratite nazad. Dodajte sirce i vino. Promijesajte i neka ponovo provri. 
Servirajte preko rize sa svjeze isjecenim crvenim lukom na vrhu.

Capsicums stuffed with Beans and Lentils

After overeating during holidays, somehow comes naturally to turn to vegetarian / light food. Stuffed capsicums (and other vegetables) are regular dish in Balkan countries. This is one of unusual versions, filled with lentils and beans. Ingredients: 6 medium capsicums, halved and /or other vegetable 2-3 tbs oil 2-3 onions 2 garlic cloves 1 tbs paprika 1 tsp cumin pinch oregano 2 cans white beans, drained 1 can lentils, drained salt and pepper to taste extra olive oil and paprika for dusting Method: Heat oil and fry/sautee onion, until translucent. Add garlic, spices, lentils and beans. Cook 5-10 min. Check the seasoning. Mush one part of this stuffing with fork, mix well and leave aside. Switch oven to 180*C. Prepare a baking dish; oil it well. Cut capsicums in half, take seeds out. Fill each half with bean mixture. When all finished, dust with paprika and drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 20+ minutes, or until capsicums soft. Serve warm. Paprike filovane grahom / pasuljem i lećom Poslije sve one silne hrane pojedene za protekle praznike, nekako prirodno dodje zelja za vegetarijanskom / laksom hranom. Obzirom da su filovane peprike redovne na stolu mnogih Balkanskih zemalja, odlucila sam pokusati napraviti jednu nesvakidasnju kombinaciju - sa grahom i lecom. Potrebno: 6 srednjih paprika, prepolovljene (ili drugo povrce) 2-3 K ulja 2-3 crvena luka, sjeckana 1 K paprike 1 k kima malo origana u prahu 2 konzerve bijelog graha (ili skuhanog) 1 konzerva lece / sociva so i biber, prema ukusu maslinovo ulje i paprika za posuti Nacin: Zagrijte ulje, proprzite luk, pa dodajte bijeli luk i ostale zacine zajedno sa procijedjenim grahom i lecom. Kuhajte 5-10 min; jedan dio ispasirajte blago viljuskom i promijesajte. Provjerite ukus i ostavite po strani. Ukljucite rernu na 180*C, pripremite posudu za peci; dobro je nauljite. Ocistite prepolovljene paprike od sjemena. Filujte svaku polovicu sa pripremljenim grahom. Pospite crvenom paprikom i maslinovim uljem po povrsini i pecite 20+ minuta, ili dok paprike ne omeksaju. Servirajte toplo.

Basic Potato Salad

This type of salad is mostly served in Mediterranean countries. It's easy to prepare and makes perfect accompany with fish.

Ingredients:
4-6 potatoes (one large for each person - red ones are the best)
350 g green beans
salt and pepper
1 garlic clove, crushed
Olive oil and white wine winegar (3-4:1)
parsley leaves for garnishing
Method:
Peel and cook potatoes and beans. Slice potatoes, mix with beans. Pour olive oil and vinegar into a jar; salt and pepper to taste, add garlic and shake well (I prefer 4 parts of oil to 1 part of vinegar). Pour this dressing over the salad; garnish with parsley leaves. Enjoy warm or cold.
To this salad you can add anything from your fridge (hardboiled eggs, olives, onion, mayonese, other herbs...)





Osnovna krompir salata

Potrebno:
4-6 krompira (crveni - jedan veliki za svaku osobu)
350 gr mahuna
so i biber
1 ceno bijelog luka, protisnuto
maslinovo ulje i vinsko sirce (3-4:1)
lisce persuna za posuti
Nacin:
Skuhajte oguljeni krompir i mahune. Izrezite krompir, pomijesajte sa mahunama. Uspite ulje i sirce u teglu (Ja uvijek koristim 4 dijela ulja prema 1 dijelu sirceta), zacinite solju i biberom; dodajte bijeli luk. Dobro protresite teglu, pa prelijte ovo preko salate. Pospite persunovim liscem.
Sluzite toplo ili hladno.
Ovoj osnovnoj salati mozete dodati bilo sta iz vaseg frizidera (kuhana jaja, masline, luk, majoneza, drugo zacinsko bilje...)

Kheema with Sweet Potatoes and Green Beans



For those who love Indian spices!

Ingredients:
4 tbs oil
2 onions, chopped
2 teas coriander seeds, ground
1/2 teas cumin seeds, ground
1/2 teas ground turmeric
2,5 cm ginger, grated
1 chilli, chopped
1 teas Garam masala
500 g minced beef
250 g sweet potatoes, cubed
300-400 g beans, cut into 2,5 cm pieces
salt to taste
Method:
Heat oil in a sucepan, cook onions until soft. Add the spices and 1 tbs water, cook 5 min. Stir in beef and cook until it changes colour. Lower the heat, add potatoes and beans, cover with lid. Cook until vegetables are tender. Serve hot.

Mljeveno meso sa povrćem na Indijski način / 'Kima'

Sastojci:
4 K ulja
2 glavice crvenog luka, sjeckane
2 k korijandera u prahu
1/2 k kima u prahu
1/2 k turmerika u prahu
2,5 cm djumbira, rendanog
1 ljuta papricica, sjeckana
1 k 'Garam masala' zacina
500 gr mljevene govedine
250 gr slatkog krompira, rezanog na kocke
300-400 gr mahuna (okruglih), rezanih na 2,5 cm
so, prema ukusu
Nacin:
Zagrijte ulje, proprzite luk. Dodajte zacine i 1 K vode; kuhajte 5 min. Ubacite meso i pirjajte dok ne promijeni boju. Smanjite temp, pa ubacite povrce. Poklopite i kuhajte dok povrce ne omeksa. Servirajte toplo.

Mexican Baked Beans


All Wonderful flavors of Mexico in one dish!

Ingredients:
1/2 kg Borlotti beans
bay leaf, peppercorns, salt
2 tbs oil
2 onions, diced
3-4 garlic cloves, crushed
2 tbs paprika, smoked preferably
1 chilli, sliced
1 yellow capsicum, strips and dices
1 large carrot, diced
300 g speck, 6 thick slices + rest of it diced
2 teas cumin powder
1/2 teas oregano powder
1 potato, grated
salt, pepper, 'Vegeta' (veg. stock powder)
3-4 Chorizo sausages
Method:
Cook beans with salt, pepper and a bay leaf, until soft, but whole. (Presoaking overnight will help a lot, or using a pressure cooker.) Drain.
Heat oil in a large pot, fry onions, diced speck, carrot, diced capsicum and chilli. Add spices, then beans and 1-1,5 cups water. Cook for 1/2 an hour. Grate potato and check the taste.
Preheat oven to 200*C, oil an dish.
Spoon beans mixture into the oven dish, arrange sausages (halved lenghtwise), paprika strips and speck on top; sprinkle with paprika. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until thick and sausages baked.

Meksički Zapečeni Grah / Pasulj

Potrebno:
1/2 kg graha/pasulja 'Šarenac'
lovorov list, biber u zrnu i so
2 kasike ulja
2 crvena luka, sjeckana
3-4 cena bijelog luka, protisnuta
2 kasike crvene paprike, dimljene po mogucnosti
1 ljuta papricica, izrezana
1 zuta paprika, isjecena na prutice + kockice
1 veca mrkva, isjecena na kocke
300 gr mesnate slanine. isjecena na 6 reznjeva , ostatak na kockice
2 kasicice kima u prahu
1/2 kasicice origana u prehu
1 krompir, rendani
so, biber, Vegeta
3-4 Chorizo kobasica (moze i Kranjske, ali je ukus drugaciji)
Nacin:
Skuhajte grah sa biberom, solju i lovorom. Ocijedite.
Zagrijte ulje u vecoj serpi, proprzite luk, mrkvu, slaninu i papriku (kockice samo). Nakon nekoliko minuta ubacite zacine, grah i zalijte sa 1 (+)soljom vode. Kuhajte oko 1/2 sata, zatim dodajte izrendani krompir i provjerite ukus.
Zagrijte rernu na 200*C, nauljite tepsiju.
Istresite grah u tepsiju, poredajte raspolovljene kobasice, prutice paprike i slaninu na povrsinu, pospite tucanom paprikom. Pecite 15-20 minuta, ili dok kobasice ne porumene, a grah se stisne.

Beans and Corn Salad with Capsicum and Onion

The heat of summer has arrived in my City, and that means I will spend as little time cooking/baking as possible. Meals will mostly consist of combined ingredients and BBQ. One of 'combined-ones' is this salad; it contains complete protein and good carbs, so it is all-in-one meal. Perfect for vegetarians. It takes 5 minutes to make it. Ingredients: 2 cans of red kidney beans 1 can of corn 1 Capsicum, red, diced 1-2 Spanish onions, diced 2-3 tbs olive oil 1-2 tbs Balsamic Vinegar salt and pepper to taste Method: Drain cans; combine all ingredients, mix well. Season according to your taste. Grah/pasulj i kukuruz salata sa paprikom i lukom Kada vrucine nastupe u mom gradu, uglavnom izbjegavam da kuham. cesto se obroci sastoje od 'kombiniranja' namirnica. Ova salata ima sve neophodne nutricionalne vrijednosti u jednom, a gotova je za svega 5 minuta. Potrebno: 2 konzerve crvenog graha 1 konzerva kukuruza 1 crvena paprika, mesnata, iskockana 1-2 Spanska (ljubicasta ) luka, iskockana 2-3 kasike maslinovog ulja 1-2 kasike Balzamickog sirceta so i biber prema ukusu Nacin: Ocijedite konzerve. Pomijesajte sve sastojke; dotjerajte ukus.

Macedonian Baked Beans




Adopted, adapted and loved by many surrounding countries.
White beans are traditionally used.


Ingredients:
400-500 g dried beans (precooked), or 4-5 cans (I used Borloti)
2 tbs oil
2 big onions, chopped
200 g bacon, half sliced - for finishing, half chopped
1 red capsicum, chopped (half for finishing)
2 tbsp paprika
2 tbsp flour
water just to cover
salt, pepper
vegetable (stock) powder
cumin (my addition)
parsley and pressed garlic
Sausages (Kransky) for topping (optional)
Method:
Heat oil, fry onion and chopped bacon until onion start browning, add 1/2 capsicum. Add flour, paprika and beans, mix well and pour water. Spice with stock powder, garlic, parsley, salt and pepper. Cook until start thickening, then put it into an oven dish (earthenware preferable) and bake for 20-30 minutes. Arrange 1/2 capsicum, sliced bacon and sausages on top for the last 10 minutes of baking.



Gravce na tavce

Potrebno:
400-500 gr graha (koristen 'Sarenac')skuhanog, ili 4-5 konzervi
2 kasike ulja
2 velika luka, sjeckana
200 gr slanine, pola iskockane, pola sjecene na reznjeve
1 paprika, sjecena
2 kasike crvene paprike u prahu
2 kasike brasna
vode da pokrije
so, biber
vegeta
istisnuti bijeli luk i persunovo lisce
kim u prahu (moj dodatak)
Kranjske kobasice (ili slicno - po zelji)
Nacin:
Zagrijte ulje, pa proprzite luk i slaninu. Ubacite brasno, paprike obje - promijesajte, pa dodajte grah i zalijte vodom (da ogrecne). Zacinite sa zacinima i prokuhajte. Kada se pocne zgusnjavati, prebacite u posudu za pecenje (zemljane idealne)i pecite 20-30 minuta. Zadnjih 10 minuta pecenja poredajte preostalu papriku, slaninu i kobasice na povrsinu.

Chilli Con Carne



This wonderful Mexican dish is one of favourites in my family.

Ingredients:
2 tbs oil
2 onions, chopped
2 clove garlic, chopped or pressed
1 stick celery, chopped
1 chilli, chopped
2 teas cumin
2 teas paprika
1 teas oregano
500 gr mince
400 g caned tomatoes, chopped
3 tbs tomato paste
800 g canned red kidney beans
1 cup beef stock
salt, pepper, chilli to taste

Method:
Heat the oil, soften onions, add garlic, celery and spices. Cook 2 minutes, then add mince and cook it until change its colour. Add tomatoes and paste, stock and beans.
Cook for 15 minutes; add salt, pepper and chilli powder if needed.
Serve with rice or polenta.


Meksicki grah sa mljevenim mesom i chili paprikom

Potrebno:
2 kasike ulja
2 glavice crvenog luka, sjeckan
2 cena bijelog luka
1 stabljika celera
1 chili papricica
2 kasicice kima
2 kasicice paprike
1 kasicica origana
500 gr mljevenog mesa
400 gr paradajza, sjeckanog (konzerva)
3 kasike gustog kuhanog paradajza
800 gr konzerva crvenog graha (ili kuhanog)
1 solja govedje supe
so, biber i chili prah po ukusu

Priprema:
Zagrijte ulje, proprzite luk. Dodajte celer, bijeli luk i zacine. Promijesajte, pa dodajte meso. Kuhajte dok meso ne promijeni boju. Uspite paradajz, gusti paradajz, grah i supu. Kuhajte 15 minuta. Dotjerajte ukus sa solju, biberom i chili prahom.
Sluzite sa kuhanom rizom ili palentom.

Nachos


Made by my boys!

Ingredients:
20 g butter
1 large onion, diced
1-2 garlic cloves, crushed
1/3 teas chili powder
1 teas paprika
1/2 teas cummin
400 g caned tomatoes, diced
2 tbs tomato paste
1 teas brown sugar
200 g corn chips
1 1/2 cups cheese, grated
1 can red kidney beans

Method:
Preheat oven to 180*C. In a pan melt butter, add onion and garlic and fry for 3-5 minutes.Drain tomatoes and reserve 2 tbs juice: Add it to the pan along with spices, paste, sugar and beans. Cook for 5 minutes. Arrange 1/2 of chips on a ovenproof plate, sprinkle with 1/2 cheese, and 1/2 of tomato mixture. Do the same with the other half, leave cheese to be on top.
Bake for 12 minutes, or until cheese is melted.


Meksicki Nachos

Potrebno:
20 gr putera
1 veliki luk, sjeckan
2 cena bijelog luka, protisnutog
1/3 kasicice chili praha
1 kasicica paprike crvene
1/2 kasicice kima, prah
400 gr konzerviranog paradajza
2 kasike ukuhanog gustog paradajza
1 kasicica braon secera
200 gr kukuruznog chipsa
1 1/2 solja tvrdog rendanog sira
1 konzerva crvenog graha

Nacin:
Zagrijte rernu na 180*C. U tavi zagrijte puter pa proprzite crveni i bijeli luk. Dodajte zacine i sjeckani paradajz iz konzerve sa 2 kasike soka. Dodajte gusti paradajz, grah i secer, kuhajte jos 5 minuta.
U vatrostalnu posudu poslazite 1/2 chipsa, pospite sa 1/2 paradajz mjesavine i 1/2 sira. Isto ucinite sa ostalim dijelom, neka na povrsini bude sir.
Pecite 12 minuta ili dok se sir ne istopi.

Indian Spiced Beans



Versatile dish - served as entree, salad, side dish or main.

Ingredients:

2 tbs sesame seeds, dry roasted
1 tbs grated coconut
1/2 teas black mustard seeds
3 tbs oil
1 chili, chopped
1/2 teas turmeric, powder
1 teas coriander powder
500 g green beans, fresh or frozen
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
Salt

Method:
Roast sesame in a pan or in the oven;cool and grind - set aside with coconut.
Heat the oil in a deep pan, fry mustard seeds until fragrant.
Add chili, spice powders, beans and garlic. Stir fry for a few minutes, or until beans are soft.
Top with sesame-coconut mix, add salt to the taste and mix well. Enjoy!




Mahune/Boranija sa Indijskim zacinima

Potrebno:
2 kasike sezamovog sjemena, propecenog
1 kasika kokosa, ribanog
1/2 kasicice sjemena senfa/gorusice, crno po mogucnosti
3 kasike ulja
1 cili (mala 'feferonka' crvena)
1/2 kasicice turmerik praha
1 kasicica korijander praha
500 gr mahuna/boranije, svjeze ili smrznute
4 cena bijelog luka, sitno sjeckana

Nacin:
Propecite sezam na tavi ili u rerni.Sameljite ili istucajte, sastavite sa kokosom i ostavite po strani.
Zagrijte ulje pa proprzite sjeme senfa, dok ne pocne pustati miris i pucketati.
Dodajte zacine, papricicu, mahune i bijeli luk.
Przite i mijesajte stalno na jakoj vatri, dok mahune ne omeksaju.
Pospite sezam-kokos mjesavinu i posolite prema ukusu.
Dobro promijesajte prije sluzenja.
